About The Middle
ReligionUnlike solidly Puritan New England, the middle colonies presented an assortment of religions. The presence of Quakers, Mennonites,Lutherans, Dutch Calvinists, and Presbyterians made the dominance of one faith next to impossible. The middle colonies included Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware.

Climate & GeographyThe Middle Colonies had rolling hills, and fertile soil, which meant trade. They also had mild weather and longer growing seasons. They had access to the Hudson and Delaware River, which were well known trade routes.

Food The Middle Colonies were the most successful and were called the "breadbasket" because they grew so much food. They grewbarley, wheat, oats, ryme, and corn. In the Southern Colonies, the colonies grew different crops and the most popular were tobacco, indigo, and rice.
